The Amethyst and Amber Griot Gala celebrates poetry as an essential language in the City of Newark—one that is a catalyst to advance social change while holding space for its practitioners and supporters in hopes of living freely and cleanly.

The event will include performances from selected poets and poetry lovers in the Newark arts community, including Margie “Mia X” Johnson, Ameerah Shabazz-Bilal , J Read, Dr. Helena D. Lewis , Ysabel Gonzalez, Se'lah and the EvoluCulture Team.
