J Read will be competing in "Next Up Newark", the grand finale of Newark Arts Festival 2024. “Next Up Newark” will take Reimagining Community to new heights with an exciting showcase of Newark's up and coming talent.

Kick off the Newark Arts Festival 2024 in style at The Pink Ball, a stunning, one night only immersive projection art experience hosted by The Newark Museum of Art.

A month before EvoluCulture’s 10th Anniversary, The multi-masterful J Read headlines Evolution Dopen Mic on Saturday September 21st at Cryout Cave.

Evolution Dopen Mic is the flagship show of EvoluCulture Ventures, and the 2nd longest running active open mic event in Newark, NJ. It is held monthly at Cryout Cave (601 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Newark, NJ, 07102).

The event will be hosted by Sean Battle, with sounds by The IZM. and refreshments by Treasure’s Golden Confections.

Newark Native, Doabs, and Ure.Media collab to present a community activated open mic. This event welcomes all performing artists and enthusiasts in and around the area to come out for a night of fun and entertainment. J Read will be one of the feature performers for the evening.

This event is a part of NJPAC’s famous FREE outdoor concert series, every Thursday. J Read will be the opening act for the evening. Headlining the event will be New orleans funk band, Galactic, featuring Jelly Joseph.
